VOCÉ is the Italian word for “voice” and an acronym for the Latin “Volundus Opus Cultum Exellentia,” or “Meaningful Work Cultivates Excellence.” A company founded by two psychologists with active research programs in the domain of meaningful work, we provide consulting and training services to corporations, nonprofit organizations, and business consultants that are designed to make work more meaningful for employees.
Why?
First, we believe people are entitled to do meaningful work in which they can make use of their strengths to support the common good. Second, meaningful work is simply good for business. Our research demonstrates that when employees are engaged in work they find personally meaningful, that utilizes their strengths and satisfies their interests, and that connects them to the broader world, they tend to be more satisfied, committed, productive, persistent, healthy, and less likely to leave their organization. Successful organizations do not need to choose between people and profits. In short, meaningful work cultivates excellence.
